The Montgomery Alabama Dog Obedience Club (MADOC) was founded in 1971. It all started when six local citizens began this journey into dog obedience. These members started by equipping themselves with a training book in one hand and a leash and collar in the other. The first training classes were held at the YMCA near Normandale.
While growing interest in obedience training, a second class was launched at the Maxwell Air Force Base facility. The club members took on the tough task of moving heavy tables and chairs before and after each session. Despite the extra effort, these MADOC members remained committed to offering quality dog obedience training for the community.
With over 50 years of experience, MADOC offers obedience and agility classes for all skill levels. The club is always researching and updating its training methods to keep them effective, positive, and fun. Since introducing its first dog agility class in 1995, agility training has continued to grow steadily.
